We are proud to offer an ongoing JOAD program during the academic year.  Archery is a confidence builder in kids.  Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of target archery in a positive environment and to make archery enjoyable, not high-pressured. Archers need only be mature enough to comply with safe practices taught and reinforced here to participate in the National Archery Association’s JOAD program offered here at Central Maine Archery.  No prior experience is necessary.

QUALIFYING ROUNDS
Central Maine Archery J.O.A.D. will hold “Official Qualifying Rounds” for Junior Olympic ranking every third week of the month. At these classes, they shoot for a score against themselves to progress through various levels of recognition. To qualify for the next achievement level, the archer should attend at least 3 of the 4 classes that month.  At other classes, the focus is on practice, learning, and having FUN.  Every archer starts at the same level and advances only one level per qualifier.

Reminder:  You must be a NAA member at some point after qualifying for white star status to be recognized for the other achievements.  You can register at http://www.usarchery.org

A BIT ABOUT CENTRAL MAINE ARCHERY
Central Maine Archery was started in 2002 in the garage of Tom & Jess’ home on Jackass Annie Road.  Over a hundred households came to CMA Minot for sales and service of their archery equipment.  In February 2005, they moved to the current Auburn location.  We now have 6,000 square feet of indoor lanes and retail space and 700 households in our archery family.  We have 14 indoor lanes and a virtual reality hunt room that comfortably accommodates four adults at a time.  We have hosted the indoor state championships for the Maine Archery Association twice in four years.  Both Tom & Jess are Level II Coaches.  Our goal is to grow the sport and bring the joy of archery to all ages.
