My father started taking me hunting when I was 12 years old. I didn’t harvest my first deer until I was 19 and hunting alone with a rifle. I started bowhunting at 28. My brother talked me into it, so we would have a longer hunting season. I borrowed his bow that first year. My first year bowhunting I took two does. After that, I was addicted to bowhunting and haven’t picked up a rifle since. With the expanded archery season, I have been able to take several deer each year.
I have been shooting target archery for about eight years. I won Maine Archery Association’s Shooter of the Year in 2007. I have been to National archery tournaments in Las Vegas twice and held my own shooting with the pros. |
